Fraud and deception in New Orleans challenge a lawyer and law student's hearts, minds and wills. Book One in the Trial Series.
WARNINGS/DISCLAIMERS:
The characters in this piece are my own little creations thus they belong solely to me. Don’t try to steal ‘em. It’s all those copyright rules and legal stuff you would violate.
VIOLENCE WARNING/DISCLAIMER:
This story depicts scenes of violence and/or their aftermath. Nothing extreme. Readers who are disturbed by or sensitive to this type of depiction may wish to read something other than this story. Any particularly disturbing scenes will come with a separate disclaimer.
LOVE/SEX WARNING/DISCLAIMER:
This story depicts a love/sexual relationship between two consenting adult women. If you are under 18 years of age or if this type of story is illegal in the state or country in which you live, please do not read it. This is not PG-13. My characters rate at least an "R." If depictions of this nature disturb you, you may wish to read something other than this story or use the time to think about life. Why it would disturb you, I can’t understand, but if it does and you still insist on reading it, I don’t want to hear about it. It’s almost the 21 st century folks.
LANGUAGE WARNING/DISCLAIMER:
This story does contain language. It’d be kind of hard to write a story without language. Mostly English. A few lines of Italian, possibly some Cajun French. Maybe some Creole. Good words. Bad words. Mediocre words. Adjectives. Nouns. Verbs. Possibly a dangling participle or two. Definitely language that some readers may find objectionable. Various deities’ names, sometimes, okay, usually, taken in vain. Profanity. In short, lots and lots of language of all types and sorts.
MISCELLANEOUS WARNINGS/DISCLAIMERS:
Many of the places depicted in this piece actually exist. I know. I’ve been to them all. HOWEVER, the operations/personnel/whatever else you can think of about them, is entirely fictional, although many of the menu items described in the restaurant scenes are available. If you ever get down to New Orleans, let me know and I’ll tell you the real names and how to get there. I have taken some liberties with the legal process, otherwise the story would never be finished. This is fiction, people, not a study of Louisiana law and procedure. For that, attend one of our fine law schools. Questions, feedback and constructive criticism can be sent to .
HEARTFELT THANKS:
None of this would be possible without extensive help from some spectacular and delicious women. It is my pleasure to present them to you. In alphabetical order, they are:
Barb, who makes me take deep breaths, keeps me laughing, gently points out my flaws and shares my love of power tools and tool belts.
Frankie, who is the best beta reader a woman could hope for and who slaps me whenever necessary. I could be wrong, but I think she enjoys the slapping a little too much.
